Working people all across the spectrum are staging a day of protest today (08) to demand an allowance to match the rising inflation.
Government, semi-government, private and estate sector workers will hold agitations in front of their workplaces.
This is against the state’s placing all burdens on the public and selling their assets at the insistence of the IMF, said FSP’s propaganda secretary Duminda Nagamuwa.
Police said they are on alert in view of the planned protests.
