Sri Lanka’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has shown a growth of 3.3 percent in 2021 and such a growth can be expected again in 2027, says the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IMF, in the latest World Economic Outlook report, said Sri Lanka’s GDP will contract by 8.7 percent this year, and by 3 percent in 2023.

At the beginning of this year, the IMF predicted that Sri Lanka’s GDP would grow by 2.7 percent.

According to the IMF forecast, the country is expected to have a growth of 3.7 percent by 2027.
