The second oldest inmate at Dehiwala National Zoo, a 79-year-old elephant named Bandula, died in the early hours of this morning (23).
Report say the elderly jumbo had collapsed due to sudden illness and attempts by doctors to revive him failed.
The oldest inmate at the zoo is a giant tortoise who is around 110 years of age.
