The 43 Brigade has joined a meeting of political parties and civil society organizations convened by the Inter-University Students Federation to collect signatures for a statement against state repression.

Speaking on the occasion, its president Karu Paranavithana demanded an immediate halt to the targeting of activists of the ‘Aragalaya.’

He expressed his group’s fullest support to the statement and the subsequent programme against repression.

Meanwhile, a leading ‘Aragalaya’ activist, lawyer Nuwan Bopage, yesterday (10) left for Geneva to brief the 51 session of the UN Human Rights Council against state repression.

He will be followed by Shehan Malaka Gamage, who will raise justice for victims of the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
