All doctors who were involved in treating former CID Director Shani Abeysekara at the National Hospital before he was discharged yesterday and sent to Welikada have stated
categorically that at no time did they come under any pressure regarding the medical treatment or decision to discharge the former CID Director.
The doctors state that all decisions were made by them and them alone, and taken in the best interests of the patient without any other factors being considered. As professionals, they state that they have not and will not bow to any pressure from any party.
