Talks are underway between Ranil Wickremesinghe, Chandrika Kumaratunga and Sajith Premadasa to contest the upcoming general election via a common alliance, 'Divaina' reported.
Wickremesinghe met the former MPs of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) who supported him at the election at his Colombo residence yesterday (26).
Also, Kumaratunga had discussions with the ex-MPs of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) in Nittambuwa.
Ashu Marasinghe said the UNP started talks yesterday with the SJB as well.
S.B. Dissanayake said the media would be notified about the proposed alliance later today.
