Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with a group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) representatives for talks this afternoon, it is learnt.
It is reported that SJB general secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Sajith Premadasa's senior advisor Lakshman Fonseka, had also participated at the talks held at the residence of UNP deputy leader Ruwan Wijewardena. The discussions had focused on reaching consensus between the SJB and the UNP over contesting the upcoming general elections.
Ruwan Wijewardene and Lakshman Fonseka had also held several rounds of talks at a famous temple in Colombo in the past few days to reach an agreement over contesting the general elections on a united front.
