Leader of the UNP Ranil Wickremesinghe chaired a meeting at his political office at Flower Road in Colombo yesterday (26) to discuss forming a common opposition alliance to contest parliamentary polls.
The SLPP politicians who supported him at the presidential polls and the UNP officials attended the talks.
UNP’s Ashu Marasinghe said their talks with the SJB have been positive.
S.B. Dissanayake of the SLPP said they would contest as a group, but that the party and the symbol would be decided later.
Also present at the discussion were Dinesh Gunawardena and Ruwan Wijewardena.
