A group of tourists is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka under the 'Travel Bubble' concept, the 'Aruna' newspaper reported.


Around 250 Ukaranian tourists on board the Skyup Airlines PQ 555 flight will arrive at the Mattala Airport at 2 pm today (28).

The Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services, Major General (Rtd) G. A. Chandrasiri, said that all tourists will be escorted to their hotels under strict health guidelines.

Chief of Defense Staff and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva said that all tourists visiting the country will be monitored by the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID- 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
 
 
Udayanga's pilot project!

Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga is leading this pilot project as part of the government's efforts to reopen Sri Lanka's borders to help the tourism industry.

Although around 200 affluent Russian tourists were scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka yesterday (27), the flight was cancelled.

According to airport sources, the flight was canceled due to the detection of a new strain of COVID-19 that is spreading rapidly across Europe.
